Good move for Charity Opshop
Orphans Aid International has moved its Invercargill Opshop into much bigger and bolder premises.
CEO Sue van Schreven said it was still a great central city location in Spey Street, but with better parking, more street frontage and “loads more space to display and sell all the great stuff we’ve been donated.
And much better working conditions for our faithful volunteers.”
The Opshop, which has been in its current premises for more than six years, will be moving on Queens Birthday weekend.
“It’s been quite a journey,” said Mrs van Schreven.
“We’ll be looking for extra volunteers and also some good strong men (and ladies too) to help shift all the gear…The shops have been tremendous at not only helping local families in need but providing us with ongoing income to support our orphanage needs and provide for behind the scenes costs. This move will enable us to sustain our work well into the future."
