Adoptions are a great time of celebration for us. When a child joins a family we all celebrate. No more so than today when four sisters at Casa Kiwi, Romania, all leave to live with their new Mum and Dad located not far away. The photo below is one we shared when the girls arrived into our care New Years 2016.
There is a further twist to this story, when the girls arrived at Casa Kiwi there was also two older sisters, so six siblings in total. The two older girls
were placed at another foundation. Our team has worked hard to ensure the girls stay in contact, it now seems the two older girls will come and live
at Casa Kiwi. The six siblings will be able to see each other regularly.
In all our time of being involved in Romania we have not heard of anyone adopting four children, apartments are traditionally small and it's a very rare situation. We are delighted for the girls and the new Mum and Dad who will receive four daughters. Today will be an emotional day for the family and all the children and team at Casa Kiwi. This is GREAT news.
In other good news through from Romania our team was able to help a young Mum (17 years old) with an unplanned pregnancy and able to see her reunited with her own family along with her new born baby. It was a tricky situation and we were able to be part of the solution. We also helped with some basic supplies, bedding, a stroller and some essential needs. Preventing abandonment of children is so important and to hear this report and to know the new Mum and baby is being supported is a fantastic outcome.
In other news progress is being made in Uganda for the arrival of some livestock to help boost family income. The rainy months have held up work in the piggery but the concrete is now drying before the first inhabitants arrive! I love these projects which are bringing long term solutions to strengthen families ensuring they remain strong and once again children are not abandoned.
We are currently working on sending out tax receipts for those that have not received receipts throughout the year. If you have changed your postal address or would like to receive your tax receipts by email this year please do let us know. If you received them by email last year they will be sent this way again. Any questions on this please connect with us firstname.lastname@example.org. We do have some wonderful supporters we cannot identify meaning we have a name but no contact details. If you have not heard from us ever with a receipt or a thank you maybe it's you? Please do let us know if you think we may not have your correct details.
