What a wonderful treat this week to receive images of two Casa Kiwi 'sisters' reunited for a play date. As you can see from the photo, these two were fast friends when they were younger, and the bond remains! One girl was adopted and is thriving in her new family, and the other remains at home in Casa Kiwi. She is well known for welcoming new children with warm hugs and smiles when they first arrive.
It is very rewarding to know that we are building a large and loving extended family in all our projects. Children who would otherwise have few connections, now have the solid foundation only a sense of belonging can bring. We hope that in the future they will themselves be ambassadors for love and positive change in their commuities.
As our own children go off to school this month, and family life settles back into routine, it is an ideal time to consider how we can support our Orphans Aid family. Late February and March is street appeal time, and we are full swing into planning collections in towns across the country. We do need help in your town, at a Farmers Market or community event, or outside a supermarket, we would love to hear from you! Vicci can discuss your ideas and provide all the materials and guidelines you need - you provide the smiles!
We desperately need co-ordinators and collectors in these areas: Cambridge/Hamilton, Palmerston North, North Auckland, Nelson and in your town! We have collections happening in the following towns, and the coordinators would love extra hands: Howick TBC, Hastings 4th March, Lower Hutt 18th March, Tauranga 25th March, Whanganui and Wellington 11th March, Dunedin and Milton 24th Feb, Hamner 4th March, Winton, Napier, Kapiti Coast, Takaka and Gore TBC.
Appeals help us provide for shortfalls across all our project areas.
Perhaps you are a regular market stall holder, store or business owner, and would consider having a coin box? It is a fabulous way to connect us with new supporters, and help with our work. Every Coin Counts!
Call Vicci on 0800 677 426 or email on email@example.com to chat about how you can help.
Our thoughts and love go out to the people of Christchurch today. Praying that the fire is contained soon.
Wishing you a great week, and thanking you for your on going support. It means a great deal.
